Corridor Analysis Scenario

The task for this scenario was to model the potential movement of black bears between two protected areas of the Coronado National Forest. This scenario analyzed the elevation, landcover, and distance to roads in the area. First, I converted the roads polyline to a raster and ran the Euclidean distance tool. I then reclassified all three rasters (elevation, landcover, river) with their suitability values. Following that, I ran the weighted overlay tool to create a suitability model. The rasters were weighted as follows: landcover 60%, elevation 20%, and distance to roads 20%. In order to create an inverted raster, I used the reclassify tool and simply inverted the cost values. I then created a cost distance map for both cost rasters. Finally, I ran the corridor tool with the two cost distance maps and adjusted the symbology.
